Growing up in Alberta I used to get up every morning at 5am, throw on some Modest Mouse, and go check the oil wells. Had to make sure that Brent Crude was flowing outta there nice and easy. Put em in some barrels, roll em down the hill, throw them over some barbed wire fences, you know what I mean? All this while listening to the latest Death Cab record! Then after a hard day I'd go go finish my homework, throw on the latest Bon Iver, and wait till mama finished cooking my vegan tofurkey.

Eventually I relocated to Victoria, BC, where unfortunately they don't have no bulls to ride so us cowboys had to improvise with the orca whales.

You can run from your past but you cannot hide from it.
